The Alamos Wildlands Alliance (AWA) is a U.S. based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization involved in Conservation, Education, and Research in Southern Sonora, Mexico.
We inform and educate visitors about the natural and cultural beauty of Sonora. We focus on the creation of a preserve in the native thornscrub-mangrove community. We operate the Navopatia Field Station, where travelers, students, and researchers can stay and interact with the local community while engaged in biological research and other kinds of exploration in the Agiabampo estuary and surrounding landscape. We provide opportunities for academic and professional field studies as well as foster sustainable development in our communities and abroad.
